2nd Annual Fuse Tech Conference Hosted by Orion Advisor Services to Take Place In Park City

Joel Bruckenstein to serve as judge. Fuse 2014 award winners AdvisoryWorld, Riskalyze, Laser App, and Sagacious, Inc. will return to participate in Advisor FinTech Hackathon.

Orion Advisor Services, LLC, ("Orion") a portfolio accounting service provider for advisors, has announced it will host its second annual Fuse conference for financial technology developers. The event will again take place in Park City, Utah. The 2015 dates are  September 10th to 13th.

"Fuse is the financial technology industry’s first and only conference geared solely towards developers and creating new technology solutions for advisors," said Joel Bruckenstein, co-founder of the T3 Technology Conferences held twice a year (T3's November "enterprise conference" is by-invitation-only and is geared for broker/dealer executives and COOs / CTOs from larger RIA firms whereas the T3 February "advisor conference" is open to any advisor seeking new ideas and technology solutions to integrate into their business practices). Bruckenstein will also serve as a judge at the 2nd annual Fuse conference.

“If our mission is the empowerment of advisors via the delivery of cutting edge technology, well, you can’t do that by standing still,” said Eric Clarke, CEO and President of Orion. “Fuse is designed to deliver innovative concepts for advisor tech, to push the envelope, and we expect the event to grow to support more developers and to see an even greater benefit for independent advisors and the technology they use every day. Developers from dozens of advisor technology firms assemble at Fuse to work together to create integrated solutions and move the industry as a whole forward. It is a living, breathing technology event, and with a focus on practical developments coming out of the weekend, advisors will again see immediate benefits following the conference," Clarke said.

“After years of stagnant development, 2015 is clearly the year of Advisor FinTech,” said Michael Kitces, publisher of the financial planning industry blog Nerd’s Eye View. “Orion’s efforts to create this Advisor FinTech ‘Hackathon’ have the potential to greatly accelerate the development of technology solutions for advisors. I’m thrilled to be participating as a judge this year, and can’t wait to see what will come forth from the competition!”

Judges, who will determine the best solutions developed, include Ryan Beach, President of CLS Investments, LLC; J.D. Bruce, CPA, PFS, President of Abacus Wealth Partners; Joel Bruckenstein, Founder of Technology Tools for Today; Michael Kitces, Publisher of Nerd's Eye View and Partner at Pinnacle Advisory Group; Billy Oliverio, Vice President of Investment Advisory Services at United Planners Financial Services; Steve Sanduski, Founder of Belay Advisor; and Bill Winterberg, CFP, Founder of FPpad. Awards will be chosen based on the best contributions to the advisor community.
